One place - Two tapes to witness songs as they start to take form.
In August 2025, The Zew retreated to a residency in a barn floor in Schrattenberg, Styria. Surrounded by wood, space, and each other, new songs emerged — raw, open, and constantly in motion. STILL in progress.
The resulting double tape release brings together two different perspectives on this period: One tape contains a live recording, the other demo recordings. Two documents of a process that makes audible not only the slightly aged songs, but also the process of the becoming of new and unfinished material.
The OX Tapes invites you to be a fly on the wall and experience an imperfect and vulnerable, sometimes even spectral process as it unfolds. Rather than simply listening to the finished songs, you get a chance to be there up close and hear how they take shape.
